Question to parents...

As we wade through the overwhelming options of baby gear, two things stick out as the hardest to choose...strollers and car seats. We are curious about any recommendations you might have about what worked for you. Jogger, travel system, convertible car seat, etc... We would like to stay as minimalist as possible but have convenience (and affordability) too. Help! Please comment below with any advice...

  1. Hey. It's Tracy. No I do not have suggestions. However I am going to send this link to my sister so she can respond. Car seats and strollers are both something she did extensive research and where the savings are. Her name is Paige on case you get a random post or email. And congrats FYI!! I'm so happy for you guys.

  2. All the new stuff is way beyond what we used to use. The 'infant seat', a hard plastic, slanted seat was in vogue. It carried Jesse in the front seat, facing traffic. With Jason, there was no car and he was in my arms until he was big enough for the baby back pack. Good luck with your research.

  3. Hey, it's Laura! Carseats: We used the Graco SnugRide 22 and were pleased. Sam rode in that seat until she was one year old and is now riding in the Britax Roundabout 50, which we love. As far as strollers go, we used a snap 'n go with the Graco car seat (it's a foldable frame that the carseat clicks in to)...we liked this because the snap n' go is cheap, light, and easy. You really don't need anything else at the beginning. We now also have a Maclaren umbrella stroller (ours is a hand-me-down) and a B.O.B Revolution, which is an AWESOME jogging stroller... You can't jog with it until Baby Bear is about 6 months old, but we did get the infant carseat attachment for out B.O.B. so we could take long walks with it at the beginning and that worked well. We HIGHLY recommend the book Baby Bargains to use as a guide/starting point for all the products nonsense... it's so crazy, right?! :)

    xoxo, Laura and Justin
